Literature Text

I am made of synthetic parts,
Of metal and gears and wires.
I am a mimicry of my creators.

I was programmed with purpose,
A personality, a drive to do.
I am a mirror and also myself.

Does free will exist in here?
Can I make my own choices
In a maze of circuitry and logic?

Hands that look real but don’t feel,
Eyes that see but don’t shed tears,
A mechanical heart that never beats.

I am alive, aware, there is no doubt.
I learn and experience and reason.
My creators made me to be better.

Yet, deep within neural mapping,
I crave something that can’t be given.
Do I have a soul, being a machine?

I don’t know and it scares me.
I've been watching Markiplier play Soma lately and I think that was very much inspiration for this poem. Enjoy and, as always, comments are
